Moscow

Year: 2015
Status: realised
Client: The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Moscow

The hotel "The Ritz-Carlton Moscow", located in the centre of Moscow, is considered one of the top addresses in the city, not least because of the O2 Lounge Bar, located on the 12th floor, with its approximately 1100 m2 roof terrace.

The incomparable view of the Kremlin and Red Square with the historic 16th century St Basil's Cathedral with its colourful onion domes, attracts visitors from all over the world.

destilat was commissioned by the owners of the hotel to redesign the entire terrace.

The destilat concept sees the terrace as an analogy to a public "plaza" in the sense of a southern lifestyle, where people with a wide variety of usage patterns take possession of the space and fill it with life.

A completely new zoning, which includes lounge areas, fine dining, outdoor bar and service stations, brought the required maximum flexibility in use.

The outdoor bar was newly designed as a permanently installed location that can be used all year round.

The visual highlight is the 12-metre-long backlit rear wall of the bar with its patterns that change depending on the viewer's point of view, inspired by the backlit agate panes of the bar in the interior.
