For the TV studio of the Austrian telecommunications provider, destilat developed a design concept that provides a calm and restrained stage for UPC's concise corporate identity. The floor and walls combine to form a harmonious unit with their matt white surfaces. Only two striking basic elements are embedded in this reduced white cube. Firstly, a huge, equally matt white frame that spans two sides of the room in a generously proportioned cove and seems to float in space due to the wall mounting. The logo is partially inscribed in this frame and the blue screen is integrated, which is backed by coloured areas that in turn schematically pick up the logo.
A stele with an elliptical cross-section on a mobile, equally elliptical base functions as a simple standing desk that can be positioned anywhere in the room, depending on the broadcast format. What is special about this design concept is that the room boundaries largely dissolve due to the white colouring throughout and that the furniture also merges with the room. As neutral as the interior appears, it has subtly inscribed itself in the viewers' memory.
The TV Studio is a consistent further development of the corporate architecture that destilat developed for UPC and which was used throughout Austria in UPC shops, offices, trade fair stands and sales modules and helped the brand to achieve a memorable, architectural appearance.
