Budapest

Year: 2009
Status: realised
Client: Werbeagentur Strobl

Only a handful of colours characterise the design concept by destilat for the Budapest branch of the internationally active advertising agency Strobl. White and grey are the basic colours used for the interior. Selected furniture and room situations as well as the communicative leisure area of the office, the reception desk, kitchen and cloakroom are marked with a strong anthracite tone.

The counterpoint to this austere and rather sober colour palette is formed by bright green coloured areas that occasionally appear as wall paint and form the background for large-scale ornaments - silhouettes of flora and fauna. They are an architectural quotation of the agency's specified corporate design, which was stylised and integrated into the interior design.

The furniture is an assemblage of iconic design classics of the 20th century as well as several designs by destilat - such as the built-in archive cabinets and the modular work tables. In this interplay, a softly rounded Plastic Armchair by Charles and Ray Eames meets the angular lines of customised utility furniture in a very relaxed way. In its entirety, the design follows the idea of creating a formally and colourfully restrained workspace that offers ideal structures and conditions for the turbulent everyday life of the agency and where employees can give free rein to their creativity.
