With its impressive unique surfaces, Neunziggrad is revolutionizing all ideas of what wood, ceramics, metal, stone, paper or innovative design materials can look like. With consulting expertise and a comprehensive materials database, the young company has opened up a new business segment and has become a relevant partner for architects and designers. In addition to concept stores in Vienna and Innsbruck, the material consultants are opening their next location in Munich's prime city center.
destilat's design premise was to consciously curate the material possibilities of Neunziggrad in their interior design and to "whet the appetite for more" with a selection of materials, instead of showing everything the company has to offer in a colorful patchwork quilt. To lend the plain space more excitement, the interior designers have constructed supposed skylights with mirrored ceiling cut-outs. These architectural breaks provide dramatic lighting and give the room its stage-like character. The products are not displayed like in a store, but in the applied form of a lounge area.
The central element is the imposing counter made of natural stone with a brushed metal top, which runs across the room, intersecting different areas and cleverly concealing the back office, bar and storage space. Restraint can be seen in the homogeneous design of the walls and floor - executed in a manual spatula technique that tells of the style of craftsmanship, it forms a harmonious architectural framework that can be used again and again.
