Hotel Maraska

Zadar

Year: 2016
Status: Concept study
Client: Robert Wolte & Partner

A concept study for a hotel project in Zadar, Croatia, involving the conversion of the listed former factory building of the Maraska liqueur factory into a 4-star+ hotel. Based on the winning design by Boris Podrecca from an architectural competition, the study includes the planning of the standard rooms and the entrance area with reception and lounge.

In the design of the foyer area, the main focus is on the careful integration of the existing building, for example the original natural stone walls, into the new spatial concept. Furthermore, the architect's idea of taking up the K. u. K. tradition of classical glass house architecture was further developed in terms of interior design.

The rooms were designed in an airy modern style with a generous spatial effect due to the spatial separation of bathroom and room by means of glass partitions. The choice of materials and colours refers to the Mediterranean, geographical and historical context of the project.
