For a new semi-detached house to be built in the immediate vicinity of the lively Molinar beach promenade in Palma de Mallorca, a new façade and a façade concept based on turf concrete blocks were designed. The aim of the architectural concept was to combine the client's wish for maximum isolation from the street with a design idea that clearly distinguishes itself from the faceless surrounding architecture.

destilat opted for a façade design made of lawn concrete blocks, which quote a southern building tradition.

The building, which appears monolithic in its entirety, emerges from the repetition of the ornamental structure of the concrete lawn stones. All window openings are also concealed by this "second skin" and are only dimly perceptible.

From the inside, the front façade ensures the desired discretion and separation from the hustle and bustle of the outside world.

Only the entrance areas made of black burnished sheet steel stand out from the rest of the façade and break up the wall structure. Due to their materiality, they reinforce the hermetic effect of the façade and the desire for privacy and withdrawal from the outside world.
