Light

Makes ideas visible

Nothing works without light - that was already clear in the story of creation. It is the stimulus that controls our eyes and allows us to perceive objects like spaces. If it is missing, we become disoriented, literally groping in the dark. For ages, only the sun, moon and stars were able to draw the graduations between day and night, until the discovery of fire made it possible to instrumentalise light.

Since time immemorial, buildings have been aligned according to the cardinal points and the course of the sun in order to make use of its light and warmth. Electricity revolutionised the lighting of outdoor and indoor spaces and opened up absolute design freedom for everything we see and also for "in what light" it should appear to us.

Because light stimulates our emotions, we can create moods and stage rooms with it. Subdued, sunny or flooded with light - our language knows countless words to describe the multitude of light situations and even has a number of adjectives ready for their colour and intensity, such as soft, delicate, bright, warm or cold light.

An element with this potential is naturally the darling of designers, and it's no different for us interior designers. We give light a lot of space in our interiors; we make plans that capture sunlight and offer cool shaded areas, ideally illuminate workspaces and picturesquely light up the reading area. To this end, we are constantly on the lookout for innovative lighting fixtures and lighting systems and occasionally launch our own lamp designs on the market.
